One thing I never understood about the "special talk"...
What was so "special" about it?
To me a talk was special when I felt refreshed, encouraged or motivated after it, but most of the time that had to do with the speaker's ability and not the material...
Good speakers in the org are hard to find... and my prediction is that they'll get harder to find as more and more of the intelligent, thinking JW's leave the org.

for an update, my esthetics shop will be open in about a week, i posted a while back about a gov't program i was on, it is way too cool.
and today i won $1000 from johnson and johnson from the net on a contest, ok it was for ob tampons, but i wont tell if you won't.
i also won a $150 hershey kisses chocolate backet two weeks ago delivered the next day, was beautiful just on a 'bout time my karma came round' high :):).

just by looking at a person, the way he/she dresses or by the facial expressions, can you tell what kind of person she/he is?.
do you see a correlation between the looks and the personality of a person?
You can only tell generalisations...
Like you can tell a goth or a bodybuilder by how they look or dress...
You can't tell their deeper qualities though, like inner personality.
Anyway... why ask this question?

we have all sat at jw meetings and heard some ridiculous statements that were either shocking or just plain old bunk.
usually it is the same jw individuals that make those statements time and time again.
you know the type..... you can almost expect such comments from them.. jws place great importance on what statements or persons are 'stage worthy'.

our visitors were baptist folk, so there was no shiraz today, out of respect for their sensibilities!
we enjoyed our conversation about dateline/panorama/sunday and they are taking a tape of the sunday program to various church groups in the south of sydney.
Definitely number 9.
Interestingly, when I was concieved, my mother believed that I would be born in the "New System". I was concieved in 1975 but born early 1976 in the wicked system of things. And now, much to my folks dismay, no Armageddon or New System yet. But I know they still believe "it's just around the corner."
